Selçuk Artut, a faculty member at Sabancı University's Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, has presented his new exhibition, "Autonomy: Fluid Geometry," to the public. Open from March 25th to April 24th, 2026 at the Terakki Foundation Art Gallery, the exhibition focuses on the artist's unique approach to digital art, algorithmic production, and geometry.

Curated by Nazlı Pektaş, the exhibition invites viewers to rethink the human-technology relationship, a frequent theme in Artut's work, this time through geometric forms and fluid structures. The works in the exhibition transform the rigid structure of traditional geometric understanding into a dynamic and autonomous aesthetic language through codes and algorithms.
"Autonomy: Fluid Geometry" not only offers a visual experience but also draws the viewer into a multi-layered realm of thought by bringing together mathematics, history, and digital production practices. Instead of directly reproducing the geometric legacy of the past, Artut reinterprets the intellectual and aesthetic essence behind this legacy using contemporary technologies. In this process, the artist adopts a creative method where randomness and machine decisions are decisive, partly transferring control over production to algorithms.

Known for his interdisciplinary practice, Artut's work continues to question the relationships between art, technology, and society. Continuing his academic work at Sabancı University, the artist also contributes to new forms of production by teaching courses in creative coding and media arts.
"Autonomy: Fluid Geometry," as a contemporary reflection of Artut's artistic practice, is a noteworthy exhibition for viewers who want to rethink the concepts of form, aesthetics, and production in the digital age.

About Selçuk Artut
Selçuk Artut is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher who explores the complex theoretical and practical dimensions of human-technology relationships. His artistic practice examines how these interactions shape perception, experience, and the boundaries of creativity.
Artut's work has been exhibited in prestigious venues and events such as Sonar Istanbul, ISEA, AKM Istanbul, Siggraph, Dystopie Sound Art Festival Berlin, Moving Image New York, Art London, ICA London, Art Hong Kong, Hope Alkazar, and the Istanbul Biennial. Leading platforms such as Artsy, Creative Applications, CoDesign, Visual Complexity, and CNN GO have also featured his contributions to contemporary art.
Artut, who holds a PhD in Media and Communication from the European Graduate School in Switzerland, approaches art and technology from a critical and academic perspective. He is the author of nine books and editor of one, reflecting his deep interest in the intersections of art, media, and technology. Artut, a professor at Sabancı University's Visual Arts and Visual Communication Design Program in Istanbul, focuses on bridging the gap between art and technology through his courses on creative coding, computational art, and media arts.
Having traveled to over thirty countries across six continents throughout his career, Artut has contributed to the development of intercultural dialogues in the fields of art, technology, and creative innovation through conferences, presentations, and workshops.
A versatile producer, Artut is also a musician. Since 1998, he has been a member of the pioneering post-rock avant-garde group Replikas, which has released numerous albums. Extending his artistic practice to live performances, Artut co-founded RAW in 2016, a visual-audio duo that pushes the boundaries of sound and image using creative coding and live coding techniques to create algorithmic performances.
Artut's dynamic production practice reflects his ongoing effort to redefine the relationships between art, technology, and society.
